Welcome to the fantastic opportunities of the Costa del Sol

Fly like a bird and head south when the Nordic countries get cold and dark. In the south of Spain there is plenty of opportunity to buy holiday homes that you can take down to again and again, and on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga you can find everything from apartments in cozy towns to beach homes.

About the Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol is part of a region consisting of a whole range of different coastal towns in Andalusia. Until the 20th century, the whole area was made up of small, cozy fishing villages, but since then it has become known around the world as an attractive tourist spot.

There have been people on the Costa del Sol since the Bronze Age, and a whole range of different cultures and peoples have each left their mark. Today, the Sun Coast, as it is often called in Danish, is urbanized and has a lot of cities and mixed architectural styles. Then there is something for everyone!

The Costa del Sol is a part of Spain that has autonomy, and the region has a few distinctive features compared to the rest of the country. It includes i.a. a local language spoken on a par with Spanish.

There are plenty of holiday homes on the Costa del Sol. From small, cozy mountain villages to large, tourist-driven coastal towns, you can find something for everyone. On the Costa del Sol, there is a great focus on tourists, but a huge cultural heritage and a mile-long history have also given the area a completely unique character.

Fuengirola

Fuengirola is one of the major cities on the Costa del Sol and is a huge tourist spot. The town has no less than 8 kilometers of beach, and then the medieval fort Moorish is in sight up in the surrounding mountains. The area has a nice climate with temperatures between 18 and 30 degrees all year round, so you can enjoy the sun whenever you want.

Fuengirola has roots among the Phoenicians, and therefore you will find many different building styles, ranging from high-rise buildings and modern hotels to old neighborhoods with Arabic building style.

You can find holiday homes in Fuengirola, for every taste. Are you looking for something cozy further in the city, or do you want a view of the beach? You can find it all here.

Mijas

Mijas is a municipality in Málaga and is located on the southeast coast of the Costa del Sol. The core of the municipality is the mountain village of Mijas Pueblo, built with typical whitewashed Andalusian houses. Mijas Pueblo is located almost 500 meters above sea level in the heart of the Costa del Sol region, but that does not mean there is no access to the sea.

It is possible to find holiday homes throughout Mijas Costa, both in the cozy areas such as Mijas and the larger towns further out on the coast. Calahonda is another city in the municipality, and it is nicely close to the sea.

Vélez Málaga

Vélez Málaga, also spelled Vélez-Málaga, is another municipality in the province of Málaga. The municipality is full of urbanized cities, old quarters, architectural remains from the conquerors of the time, and of course ample opportunity for housing for tourists.

In Vélez Málaga you can find luxury holiday apartments with views of the sea and palm trees, but you can also move into the cities in townhouses or villas if you want to live more like a local.

Benalmádena

Benalmádena is ideal for those who want to be close to the city of Málaga itself, but do not want to live there. Benalmáena is located only 12 kilometers west of Málaga, ie only a short bus ride, and near Fuengirola. This means that in a holiday apartment in Benalmáena you are close to everything.

The city itself is not quite small either. The population is over 60,000, and with everything from high-rise buildings by the beach to old town areas, there is a bit of everything. Benalmáena is a large city covering an area of approx. 27 square kilometers, and here you can come again and again and experience something new every single time.

Marbella

Marbella is one of the important tourist towns on the Costa del Sol and is both a city and a municipality. With nearly 150,000 permanent residents, it is also one of the largest in the area, and the city is home to several golf courses that attract tourists from all over the world.

Restaurants, discos and sailing - Marbella has it all. There is a wide range of options for holiday homes and apartments in Marbella. The beach promenade is open and stretches for several kilometers, and the city is one you can return to time and time again and still experience again.
